GAME POSTING RULES:
1.) POSTING LENGTH: This is an RP that we'd like to be friendly to everyone of all writing levels, however we do ask that you post at least a paragraph when you post. A paragraph is 5-7 sentences.
2.) IC CURSING: Cursing is very much allowed, but try to put a limit on it, especially for Cybertronian characters. Unless you're Jazz or a character who has integrated himself into society similar to Jazz, there's not much reason your Cybertronian will be using a lot of Earth swears.
3.) WRITING STYLE: We prefer third person, but it's not absolutely necessary. Not by a long shot. If you like to write in first person, by all means, feel free! For canon characters, though (movie characters), third-person is favorited.
4.) IC IS NOT OOC: Characters will fight in-character, but please, do not bring the altercation to the OOC! Feesh is infamous for not tolerating OOC fights; just be friendly with everyone and it all shall go smoothly.
5.) POST ONCE A WEEK: If you have your character involved in something, please try to be active with your posting. We all understand that everyone has lives, Mods included, so if you know your time to post will be severely constrained for a little while, just make an OOC thread stating you will be very slow in your responses or even allowing permission to skip you, and don't let your character become key in the plot until you can post a tad more regularly. All we're asking for is a paragraph. ONE. PARAGRAPH. From any one character. You don't even have to post with all of them.
6.) CANON CHARACTER POSTING: If you have a movie character, though, you will be required to post at least once a week notwithstanding. A paragraph a week is not difficult to maintain. Your character will be put up for adoption if you fail to do so.
7.) NO OVER-POSTING: Try not to over-post. As in, wait up for other people to post so they don't fall behind. No Mod should have to ask you to slow down twice... If you are asked kindly to slow down and you don't, you will be temporarily banned until everyone else catches up.
8.) PLOTTING: You guys are totally free to make mini-plots among yourselves, but keep it within reason. If you have something that is potentially a site-changing plot, LET US ALL KNOW. As Admins, we'd want in on it because we're a nosy lot.
That's all I can think of at the mo, will try and think of others soon.
9.) NO POWER PLAYING: Be sure NOT TO PLAY ANYONE ELSE'S CHARACTER but your own. This is fairly self explanatory, but in case we have new players to RPG, I just thought I'd cover. Only play your characters, as dictating another player's character falls under powerplaying.
OOC:
1.) BE NICE: This whole category sort of boils down to just be nice. If you get into an altercation with someone, try to rationally hash it out, and if you can't, alert a Mod and we will try to set things straight. We're all pretty good and tried mediators.
2.) NO SWEARING: Do not swear at another player (or admin!) OOCly (IE. "You stupid bitch!" or what have you). Jesting is fine, but not everyone understands or recognizes it. Err on the side of caution.
3.) DON'T PICK ON THE ADMINS/MODS: The Admins and Moderators have created and are maintaining this game for you. Please show them due respect, they have rank for a reason.
AUTOBOTS:
1.) Your leader is Optimus Prime. You adhere to him entirely.
2.) Unless you're malfunctioning severely, no hurting humans! Number one Autobot rule on Earth.
3.) You may role-play out interfacing, but no human parts whatsoever on the robots! If you wish to RP out a more intimate thread, make a SEPARATE thread in "Elsewhere", stating in the topic where you are, and if the thread is open or not (I.E., "Abandoned warehouse, [open to anyone]" . Keep in mind, keeping the thread open could earn you attention from the opposite faction.
4.) Sorry, but no explicit intimacy between Cybertronians/Humans. Let's keep this reasonably within the species, shall we?
5.) If you see a Decepticon, of course you can attack it. Just read the GODMODING and POWERPLAYING section below. But keep in mind, engaging an enemy may be more disastrous to the surrounding area than the Autobots are willing to do -- humans first, you must protect them from your war.
DECEPTICONS:
1.) You guys are lean, mean, killing machins bent on destruction. You hate the humans for destroying the Allspark and Megatron and thusly, you are allowed to attack the humans. SEE GODMODING/POWERPLAYING SECTION.
2.) If you see an Autobot, you may be less concerned about concealing yourself from the humans and more concerned about kicking some serious Autobot can. Just ensure to read the GODMODING/POWERPLAYING section below.
HUMANS:
1.) You can side with whoever you want.
2.) You don't necessarily abide by any one human, but if Defense Secretary Keller or William Lennox tells you to do something, you just might want to. They're in their positions for a reason.
3.) Intimacy is allowed human-human only, thanks.
GODMODING/POWERPLAYING:
This is a huge issue for every Mod personally and overall. First, allow us to define both of these terms for any who are unfamiliar with them:
Godmoding: Like it sounds, it suggests that your character is God. Godmoding means that you have a character who has no weakness, has a gun that can blow up the entire planet in a single shot, and is so fast that even a machine gun can't hit it. ACK. NO NO. For all characters out there, this is baaaaad. The movie was great in showing us that NO ONE is invincible, no even the mighty and ever-powerful Megatron. , Barricade even got his ass whooped by Bumblebee.
Powerplaying: This is a little harder to explain in paragraph form, but here goes: Basically, this mostly revolves around active fighting within the game. Powerplaying refers to your character assigning damage to your opponent in battle.
Powerplaying and godmoding are bigtime no-no's. If you're confused, don't be afraid to ask, none of us bite.
Minor addition:
Neutrals are to commit to a faction in a timely manner, no ifs, ands, or buts about it please.
1. IC, please.
While in the Crash Site, you MUST be primarily in character. All OOCness must be indicated as such, but please remember the main purpose of this chat is to get your characters to interact on a neutral ground outside the game and for you to flesh them out.
2. Weapons Dampening Field.
Upon entering the bar, your projectile and non-natural melee weapons will automatically become useless to you. You can show them off, you can turn your hand into a cannon, whatever have you, but the ammunition/energy needed to fire magically is not there. You do, however, have melee weapons: your arms, feet, head, and any other natural limbs/appendages. You cannot use knives, hooks, etc. Think of what a human has available to them and apply that to your mechanical creations. For example, Optimus would be able to punch with a fist. He would not be able to use his blade and if he ever tried, it would simply shatter against his opponent. The shards would then laugh at him as they fell to the floor.
3. Improvising Weapons.
Bar stools, tables, random debris, etc. count as melee weapons. If your character has the sudden urge to break that energon keg over someone's head, by all means. Go for it.
4. Damage.
In the event that a character is damaged/injured to the point of "death", that character will then slip into a comatose state or go into stasis lock. In the case of humans, the Bar will immediately teleport them to an appropriate medical facility if friendly transport is not readily available unless otherwise determined by the Mod; in the case of mechs, they will be equally removed to the appropriate medical facility if no one is available to tend or carry them unless otherwise determined by the Mod. Characters thus injured are out of action until their injuries are seen to, although they can still call, comm., or otherwise use non-presence communication. Keep in mind it takes a LONG TIME to heal injuries, during which you might well be bored out of your mind because you have no one to interact with. MIND YOUR INJURIES, or that boredom will be entirely your own fault.
5. For Humans
Also, mind that there are boltholes everywhere in the Bar. This in addition to your ability to determine whether or not your human is made of butter or has a protective bubble around him when/if a mech tries to hurt him.
6. Death
NO CHARACTER CAN BE KILLED WITHOUT HIS/HER PLAYER'S CONSENT. However, your human character is not exempt from damage -- this risk comes from entering a bar that is commonly haunted by 25' robots. The rules of melee and projectile weapons count for humans, as well as damage prospects; if a human irritates a transformer and provokes an attack, the human can be hurt. Keep the powerplaying down to an absolute minimum and never assign specific damage as usual.
7. Friday
On Fridays, all of these rules will become null and void save Rule 4 (unless Mod chooses otherwise). This primarily means your character will be allowed to blow the ever-living hell out of anything and everything he/she so wishes, cut things into bits, make a delicious hand-tossed salad, and generally cause much chaos and mayhem, within reason, of course. This does not, however, guarantee that such an incident will occur. On the following day, these rules will all come back into effect.
8. Three Strikes
There is a PEACE TREATY (READ IT!) in effect, in the Bar, between Autobots, Decepticons, and humans. Read it. Characters acting counter to this Treaty will be penalized by brig time, forced labor, and any other such niceties the Commanding Officers can come up with up to the SECOND time it happens. However, by the THIRD time they breach the Treaty in this fashion, a "Death Warrant" will be issued, and the character will be banned from the Bar and related chats. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Now, this isn't to say you can't push your luck with your characters or walk on eggshells while in play. A "violation of the Treaty" here is defined as something severe involving a conscious and willing effort to cause harm to or the death of another character of the opposite faction or a human by any means. Incidents within faction are to be dealt with by the leader of that faction and in Prime's case, this rule applies to 'Bot/'Bot offenses. It's fun to push the limits, it's fun to bend the rules, but it's not fun for the ones who have to clean up after the messes have been made time and time again.
9. NDA
All humans upon arriving at the Bar are considered to have signed a government NDA, or will be shortly approached to sign the same. Regardless, this means that upon their second visit to the Bar, ALL HUMANS have signed the NDA agreement. Please act accordingly. (NDA = Non-Disclosure Agreement)
10. Scalpal = F'ING CREEPY.
11. Maximum height is 24', 35' for Big Guys. Approximate rate of transformation is 1:1 for ground vehicles, 1:2 for jets, and Rotor Radius + at least 2 feet clearance for helicopters.
12. You MAY play a character in the Forum as soon as 2 (TWO) Mods have approved the character.
13. Forum characters can be played in the Bar. Bar characters CANNOT be played in the Forum. To move a Bar character to Forum play, you must: a. Have room in your roster and b. Get the character re-approved. You may have 2 (TWO) Bar Characters for every 1 (ONE) Forum Character you have approved and active.
14. No animal alt-modes for mechs. No triple-changers. The most alt-modes a character may have is one - namely, if your character wants a different alt-mode, s/he must go and physically acquire it. If they want their old alt-mod back, they must physically find it and re-scan it.
15. No mixed alts, for mechs or drones. That means no wolf-bear or cat-bird drones and no convertible-pickup mechs. However, if a statue or otherwise three-dimensional example can be scanned (such as for a Gryphon or Chinese Dragon), this is acceptable. Simply include the geographical location and photographic evidence of where the alt-mode was acquired in your history.
16. Currently, unattached drones will not be approved unless the player and Mod have already come to an agreement with another player for partnership beforehand.
17. To acquire an alt-mode for the first time, you must be PHYSICALLY able to scan it. No internet downloading and no Cybertronian Alt-Modes.
18. No Earth-borns with the exception of the Allspark-born. No exceptions.
19. No Neutral characters. To be approved, a spec must list a faction.
20. If a Mod deems there is too big a flaw with your character (namely: something in her history, abilities or otherwise that would be impossible to retcon should the need arise), that Mod reserves the right to VETO the character.
